ABOUT ME

I'm a contemporary self-taught painter based on the Rutland and Lincolnshire border.

My journey into painting began during a transformative time in 2020 following the loss of my mother. What started as a deeply personal pursuit (creating work for my own home and friends) has grown into a passion I’ve fully embraced, allowing me to connect with others through my art.

Each piece I create is a reflection of the natural beauty that surrounds me, reimagined with an abstract, contemporary twist.

An important aspect of my creative process is allowing the audience to play a role in interpreting the work. By giving my paintings deliberately ambiguous titles, I encourage viewers to bring their own meanings to each piece, fostering a sense of collaboration and personal connection.

In the past year, I have begun incorporating clay and resin into my work, adding rich textures and dynamic, three-dimensional qualities to my paintings. The clay allows me to build up layers, creating intricate, tactile surfaces, while the resin enhances depth and luminosity, drawing the viewer into the work. These elements bring a sculptural dimension to my pieces, inviting closer engagement and exploration.
